What's an easy way to learn bookkeeping/accounting (not reading)? |
There's a lot of job offers but I don't know anything about it. I'm considering reading up on the process but if I'd prefer to go through training. Accounting is not easy to learn alone. It's best you enrol in a course where you have a teacher to explain things and to guide you. If you're working, try and find a night class. These courses can be short ones, until you grasp the concept of double entry bookkeeping, then perhaps after that, you will find it easier to understand from just reading. Buy a cheep software package and start a test business that includes all the parts. Inventory. Orders. Payment. Customers, etc. Learn the terms. Quickbooks is the standard, but expensive compared to the competition. Go to Staples and check them out. While some software is more complex than Quickbooks, you'll learn the basic concepts involved. |
