What are the benifits of doing a Sandwich course for my Degree In accounting and finance ( London ) ? please?

Dear sir/madam,
I will be doing Accounting and finance Degree next year in Brunel uni .its a 3 year course I can do 3 year full time or 4 year SW course ? I want to become a chartered accountatn fastly. so doing a sandwich degree will be a waste ? or a benifit ? Please help. I think in sandwich year i get paid a lower salary as well.

Sandwich courses are fantastic -- they give you work experience and build up your contacts. If you do well, then you might even be invited to work at one of your assignments when you've graduated. You will be able to see how what you are learning applies in real life and this will put things in context. You will also be able to learn from those in the workplace in a practical way. I see it as a benefit.

well its all very well doing a degree, but if you cant hack it in the workplace then a degree is useless.

I personally would do the SW course and do a years experience within an accounting practice, this way it will help understand what you are learning and how to apply it to the job you want.

accountancy isnt just about numbers. it also about learning to co-operate with your collegues and also good client relationships. this isnt something that gets taught at uni.

after all, you need to learn to sell your firm so you get more work, you need to cost your jobs up so you know what to offer new clients in order to get work from them and you also need to offer a very good service in order to retain and gain more clients.

To tell you the truth--- I am sitting here, stunned !! I had no idea that they even Offered a degree in sandwiches !!
I am just imagining that they want you to consider having a "backup" career in mind in case things don't work out in the accounting gig !!
There is ALWAYS work at the Subway Deli (not to be confused with New Delhi btw) !!

And, I'm shocked that you are getting out of making movies !!
Seemed as though you were doing extremely well with that !!
And, you could have Always just kicked back for a while and watched the kids while Angelina made the bucks !! (??) Oh, well, if you want to be a sandwich making accountant -- who can say NO ?? Good Luck !!
