Do you have a savings account for your kids education?

I don't but am very interested on the best way to go about it..i think i will post a new question of my own thanks :)

I use Upromise and change for now. You can take out 200 from upromise when it gets that high and put it in a savings account of your own.

This is a very personal question that I choose not to answer. I will however suggest that if you have children and want to afford them some help with their future edcuation start one as quickly as you can. A little bit of money put aside is better than none. Good luck.

we dont have kids yet and also, going to college is over-rated.....ie, not for everyone, barely for anyone

but if u are planning to save for ur kids education.. i wud suggest.. deep discount bonds. or systematic investment plans in some good mutual funds.

OF COURSE WE DO AS WE WANT OUR CHILDREN TO HAVE THE BEST EDUCATION THAT MONEY CANBUY SO THEY DO NOT END UP ON WELFARE OR IN A SECOND RATE JOB , COLLEGE THOUGH IS NOT FOR EVERYONE SO IF YOUR KIDS ARE NOT THE BRIGHTEST YOU MAY WANT TO SAVE TO SEND THEM TO AN APPRENTICE SCHOOL OR SOMETHING .

For education expenses, I prefer to save money in the 529 and Coverdell accounts.

I also have a regular investment account that I'm will get tapped once the education expenses start rolling in.
