Higher education for accounting major? |
I'm looking to pursue an accounting major, but i'm a little confused. Is it just a bachelor's degree, get my CPA and start working? Can i get a masters or doctorate in accounting? Does taht even exist?? You should start by getting a bachelor's degree in accounting. At that point you'll be eligible for some professional accounting jobs. CPA opens a lot more career opportunities. You'll need to take at least 30 graduate hours before sitting for the CPA exam, so you should plan to get either an MBA or a master's degree in accounting (it shouldn't take you more than 24 additional hours, and may take as few as 6 additional hours, beyond the 30 you need for the CPA). |
