Why WORK FOR A BIG 4 ACCOUNTING FIRM AND GET LOW BALLED WITH A MEDIOCRE SALARY AND HAVE TO WORK AROUND 80 HOUR |
a week when you can go work for a mid-size company or corporation and make about 50k a year which is what the big 4 accounting firms pay and only have to work 40 hours a week. I think its just college students who are misled into thinking that if you slave for this people while the firm partners make the big bucks then they can have some referral from them. To me I would rather just work for a fortune 500 company and build my experience there. Or if you have the that entrepreneurial flame burning in you can start your own cpa firm and start investing your time more wisely into something that is yours and where sky is the limit in profits . Not slaving over some 25 dollar an hour chump change. In my opinion if you are after money in life like mostly everyone is in this world you're best bet is sales or owning your own business. Besides that you're crazy if you ever think you're going to build any wealth working somebody else in this world. Unless you have connections and land your self a vp or executive position . Because the location, location and location is right, or that you are trying to build a work history or learn an industry, or you could simply like one of the ladies that works there at that company in that city or town, for example. Big 4 are Big 4 because they hire hungry, hard working, competetive people who are willing to put in the 80 hours to climb the corporate ladder. Big 4 companies also have much more growth potential. I work at a big 4 now and I hate the hours. It's not so bad now...only about 45 hours per week, but busy season will be 70-80 at least. jeez 50k 80 hr work wk. |

Your chances of getting hired by a big four are just the same as anyone else. When I was in college, I didn't get past an interview and therefore I didn't have a job offer by any of the ...
