Co-worker spends hours on www Face Book at work, can it interfere with my connection to our accounting system?

I can't do my invoicing then, Is it possible its spyware is setting off our firewall, shutting down the connection to our accounting? Is my co-worker's doing "Face Book" chat and social networking website interfering with the system so I can't do my work?

Call your IT department an have them check your computer, LAN connection, and LAN Node.

Let them know you are having problems connection to the accounting system.

Do not mention that a co-worker spends hours on www Face Book at work. They may take it as sour grapes. Let them find this out for thenselves.

If they do not find anything, contact your supervisor and (s)he will probably escalate the matter to a higher level.

Make sure you do not have anything on your computer not work related. If you have screensavers and/or desktop background pictures that were obtained outside your work environment, remove them before requesting any work to be done. Screensavers and/or desktop background pictures are a main cause of computer and network slowdowns. This is especially true for older computers and networks.
