Kohlberg's theory provides a particular account of moral development, what were the major criticisms?

what were his major criticisms in terms of gender and ethnicity/ and how would one account for both South Africa and the global context?

Kohlberg used male participants in his research and so it was argued by Carol Gilligan that females would reason about moral decisions in a different way.

Secondly Kohlberg's theory emphasizes justice to the exclusion of other values. As a consequence of this, it may not adequately address the arguments of people (ethnicities) who value other moral aspects of actions.
