What is the role of string theory in parallel universes?

I'm having a difficult time grasping the concept of string theory but find it quite interesting. I've heard that under this theory parallel universes may exist.

Please explain to me in very simple terms *how* string theory could account for parallel universes.

I've been wrestling with the idea of not just past lives and deja vu but that there appear to be overlapping elements. Like everyone supposedly has a look-alike somewhere in the world. That sort of thing. If any of this makes sense and you understand particles and molecules and physics, help! Thanks.

string theory states that the little basic subatomic particals, such as protons and electrons, even though to our measuring devices
these particles have a shape, but really we are seeing a very small wave. string is used because you can illustrate this by oscalliting a string fast enough that to the naked eye its looks like a sold shape. what does this have to do with parallel. since all life is made of waves of energy. einstein's theory of relativity takes over which using the speed of light which theses basic waves travel at, we can exsist every where at once, even in parallel universes. because theoritically if you travel the speed of light your are every where at once and time doesn't exsist. for more info looking to the relativity theory.

Expect it to be difficult! There is no one on earth for whom it is not difficult. Furthermore, there is as yet no string theory. Quite a few physicists and mathematicians are working on coming up with one. It can't be explained in simple terms.

It does not account for parallel universes. Some have conjectured the possibility of parallel universes. There's no evidence for them, but it's hard to rule them out.

Look at enough people and you'll find some who look more or less like you.

Past lives is pure fiction.

I understand a lot about particles, molecules, and physics. String theory is not (yet) physics. It is being groomed as a candidate for physics, and a lot of really good scientists are working on it, but it's not there yet.
