Training Level Dressage? |
I'm working with a horse i'm training myself, and have decided to tackle a dressage test for a small local show this summer. I understand most of it, but I'm confused about what the movement "MXF. one loop" and the "FXM, one loop"looks like in Training Level/ Test 4. It seems like you basically go from one corner to the center and then to the other corner on the same side, like a wide "V". Is this correct? I just moved and havent found a good dressage instructor in this area and all my horse friends aren't dressage enthusiasts, so I really don't know who to ask. I want to draw out each seperate movement on a pice of paper to memorize it, but I'm not certain what a "loop" means in this test. It seems to me that they would have said "change of rein" or something to account for the different direction like they do in another movement later in the test. Help! The loops in Training IV involve two changes of bend, demonstrating how supple your horse is. Prepare your horse for the first loop "MXF" with a slight right bend coming out of the corner, moving off of your inside leg. About halfway between "M" and "X", smoothly change to a left bend, allowing the very widest point of your arc or "loop" to reach "X". Do the same on the way back to "F" - change bend about halfway back to "F" (back to a right bend) and make sure to get into your corners to prepare for the next movement. |
