Withdrawing from an ATM?

Is it possible to withdraw from your checking account at an ATM that doesn't have sufficient funds? How much will it cost me to overdraft? But I have the intent paying back the bank in less than 3 days.

I do not have any credit cards at the moment and I plan on applying for one. I don't have family members who could lend me $400 at the moment so I was looking for a way I could withdraw and pay the overdraft fee and pay back the bank in 3-4 days.

An ATM won't allow you to draw your account into a negative balance unless, of course, that account has overdraft protection. Then your standard fee for overdrafting, as laid out by your bank, would apply.

yes you will have to pay the 30.00 overdraft fee ... but you can .

You can try. Sometimes the ATM will refuse to give you the money due to insufficient funds. Also, overdraft fees vary according to the back. Look at your original paperwork to find out.

u have no money in your account, then u can't withdraw from any bank atm...

I doubt it. I assume that only if you have overdraft protection on your account will it let you do that.

Different machines may respond differently.

There may be a little wiggle room if you have a positive balance but then you are subject to overdraft fees which range from $29 on up.....way up.

If you have nothing in the bank and no ODP then the ATM will not dispense funds. Can you take a cash advance from a credit card? Have funds in an overdraft account whether from a savings account or other plastic less credit card account? Borrow from family or friends?

If you need less than $400 or less which is the maximum most ATMs are set, this may be a time to visit a paycheck loan company. The fee should be less and you would not hit Check Free's systems at the bank.

Go look in the mirror. You'll see stupid.

You can withdraw if you have an overdraft limit (A limit in which a bank will pay any checks or debit if you don't have enough funds) Bank to bank vary but some machines will let you (I know WAMU will, I have done it!! LOL) but it depends, but it is possible.

FYI A machine will definitely not let you with just an ATM card (no Visa or Mastercard logo) but with a check card
