Payroll direct deposit?

I enroll on the direct deposit program at my work a week ago. The routing number that I gave them is from the same bank but from a different state. Today my payroll did not show up on my checking account. I called and they told me to wait for tomarrow because it got delayed and is going to get re-routed to my correct routing number from my city. Is that true??

As to the length of delay, it depends on your bank. Some banks may have automated systems to instantly route money from one routing location to another. Others may not.
