What do I charge clients for payroll/hr service?

I am interested in starting an HR/Payroll/Virtual Assistant service for small businesses. I have found a very broad spectrum of fees that other similar services are charging. Is there a "standard"?

As owner of a firm in Las Vegas, I can assure you that there are 'standard' fees for each service, but they differ from one area of the country to another. In fact, they vary quite widely.

Two things you must ask yourself are: Do I really wish to compete based upon price? or... Do I wish to compete based upon quality and service?

If you want to compete based on price, you are competing with some very big national firms. You will lose. If you compete based upon quality and service, then you will win. There is no short way to win though. You have to really give the quality and the service and you must do it in a very courteous manner.

To find out what the prices are for each group, give other firms a call and ask them their prices. Some will give them to you, others will not. In any case you have nothing to lose but time.
